The Cakemander In Chief Strikes Yet Again

White House releases new photo of President's Obama's signature sweet move...
President Obama
presented a birthday cake to Anita Decker, his Personal Secretary, on July 19, according to this official photo newly released by the White House in a Flickr series for July.

The President's signature gesture of presenting birthday cakes to staff, journalists, and visiting world leaders has become something of a theme for chief White House photographer Pete Souza.

Decker's elaborate cake is wrapped in a green ribbon, and topped with fresh berries and meringue. The panels standing on all four sides are made of white chocolate.

Before Decker's cake, the most recent official Presidential cake photo releases featured the President and First Lady Michelle Obama that presenting a birthday cake to Assistant Usher Reginald 'Reggie' Dickson following the Medal of Freedom Dinner on June 13.

The White House pastry shop, led by Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses, has released a number of cake recipes since 2009, but all are simple compared to the elaborate presentation cakes the President offers lucky recipients. Yosses' most recent cake recipe released is included in Mrs. Obama's book American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America.
