Hanukkah: Kashering The White House Kitchen

Hanukkah begins at sundown on Saturday night, and President Obama and First Lady Obama have annually hosted a reception to mark the Jewish holiday.  In 2011, the White House released this behind-the-scenes video that shows how the kitchen is "kosherized" ahead of the party.
Executive Chef Cris Comerford and Rabbi Levi Shemtov explain the process onscreen.  The menu for the Presidential Hanukkah reception is different than the buffet menu served at other holiday parties, which this year spotlight recipes featured in the First Lady's Grammy-nominated book, American GrownClick here for details about the 2011 Hanukkah reception.
