"Be Healthy, Be Active, Be You" theme spotlights First Lady's Let's Move! campaign...
With the online ticket lottery for President and First Lady Obama's fifth White House Easter Egg Roll on April 1st open today, the White House has announced that this year's 135th anniversary theme is "Be Healthy, Be Active, Be You," thanks to the activities on the South Lawn being in service to Mrs. Obama's Let's Move! campaign. Above, a video the White House released today about the Roll, which features President Obama speaking by "can phone" to "Kid President."
The White House also unveiled this year's logo, a bunny jumping rope, and announced that Mrs. Obama is inviting elementary and middle school students to enter artwork in the annual Easter Egg Roll poster contest. The First Lady will select the winning design, which must be related to this year's theme. It will be used as part of the printed program for the event. The deadline for submissions is March 5th at 10:00 AM EST. The White House submission page.
The ticket lottery closes on Feb. 25 at 10:00 AM EST. Children 13 and under and their families are invited to apply; CLICK HERE TO APPLY FOR TICKETS. The President and Mrs. Obama will welcome more than 35,000 guests to the White House.
